HUNTSVILLE — The Lady Hornets are in the state soccer playoffs.
With an exciting 2-0 road victory over Willis on Friday, the Huntsville girls secured a spot in the postseason. Caidi Davis and Beatriz Juarez scored goals for the Lady Hornets, and Huntsville’s defense kept the Ladykats from making much noise.
“We have not heard for sure but we believe with the results of the other game that we finished third in district and we will play on either March 22 or 23, depending on the winner of the district 37 vs. 38 matchup,” Lady Hornets coach Andrew Stewart said late Friday night.
The Lady Hornets’ junior varsity team went undefeated in district with a 5-0-3 record. Huntsville’s JV beat Willis on Friday with goals from Kera Roberts, Livis Sonthay and Kassandra Morales to clinch the top spot in district.
“I am very proud of the work put in by both teams this year and look forward to continuing into a successful playoffs,” Stewart said.
