Irva Pearl Rodgers Hightower

HUNTSVILLE — Mrs. Irva Pearl Rodgers Hightower, 58, of Trinity passed away Aug. 27, 2010, in Houston. She was born July 11, 1952, in Trinity.

Funeral services will be held today, Saturday, Sept. 4, 2010, at 1 p.m. at Bowen Pilgirm Baptist Church in Trinity. Mrs. Hightower will lie in state from 11 a.m. until the start of services. Pastor Samuel Dominique will preside.

Rickey Dennis, Johnny Walker, Karsten Mack, Marshall Mitchell, Donelle Carr Sr. and Isaiah Anderson Jr. will serve as pallbearers.

Mrs. Hightower was a member of Bowen Pilgrim Baptist Church and was employed with Sam Houston State University.

She is survived by one daughter, Kenya Anderson of Huntsville; one sister, Ira Nell Rodgers of Trinity; one aunt, Helen Marie Carter of Dallas; two grandchildren, Keondra Anderson and RaeKeya Anderson; three very devoted nephews, Roderick L. Rodgers, Roderick D. Rodgers and Fredrick Rodgers; two very devoted nieces, Sheena Jenkins and Crystal Scott; and a host of other relatives and friends.
