Ruth Carolyn McKee was born Oct. 2, 1923, in Jellico, Tenn. She passed away Nov. 19, 2009, at the age of 86.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 58 years, the Rev. Cecil F. McKee, and her parents, the Rev. Carroll B. Cloyd and Maxine Cloyd.
She is survived by her brother, Dr. Harry Cloyd and his wife Lynn; her two sisters, Ann Warner and Lois Blinka; her daughter, Carol Nichols and husband Mike; her son, Kenneth McKee and wife Pam; her son, David McKee and friend Sherry Carlson; granddaughter, Amy Marquis and husband Matt; grandson, John Nichols and wife Gillian; grandson, Daniel McKee and wife Stacy; granddaughter, Shelbee Montgomery; two great-grandchildren, Leelah Nichols and Ryan Marquis; and many nieces and nephews.
Ruth McKee loved the Lord Jesus Christ, her family and her many friends. She blessed all of our lives and will be remembered for her loving, caring heart. She truly lived a life of Christian service.
Ruth McKee was a charter member of the Huntsville Memorial Hospital Auxiliary and served as an Auxiliary member for many years. She was an active member of Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church where she served in the Women's Ministries and sang in the choir. She used her artistic gifts to create beautiful craft projects for the church's yearly bazaar. She and her husband Cecil enjoyed spending the latter years of their lives living at Carriage Inn.
The family would like to thank the staff and her many friends of Carriage Inn, the staff of Park Manor Nursing Facility in Conroe, Lighthouse Hospice and a very special thanks to her dear friends Pat Oliphant and Darlene Tubbs, for their loving, tender care of our precious mom.
Services will be held for Ruth McKee on Saturday, Nov. 21, 2009, at 10 a.m. at Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church in Huntsville with the Rev. Debbie Drost officiating. Interment will follow in the Adickes Addition of Oakwood Cemetery. Visitation was Friday, Nov. 20, 2009, from 5-7 p.m. at Sam Houston Memorial Funeral Home in Huntsville.
