Edith Leroa Laskie

Edith Leroa Laskie was born July 13, 1922, and passed away June 28, 2009.

A lifetime resident of Pine Prairie, she was a hard worker and a lady who loved fishing.

Edith was known as the “Cowlady” and her face would light up at any time someone spoke of her cows.

She was one of the strongest smallest women that a person could know.

Edith was preceded in death by her husband, Norman, in 1998 after over 44 years of marriage.

She is survived by son, Mike Laskie; son, Glen and wife, Sherry; grandson, Norman Laskie; granddaughter, Kimberly Kirby Derrick; grandsons, Justin and Brandon Laskie; and brother-in-law, Lloyd Davis.

Funeral service is 10 a.m. July 1, 2009, at Pine Prairie Baptist Church. Interment will follow at Pine Prairie Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 9 to 10 a.m. July 1, 2009, at Pine Prairie Baptist Church.
