Grace Faye Copeland Johnson, 91 of Deer Park, died Saturday, Oct. 6, 2007. Grace was born Feb. 8, 1916 in Oakhurst, Texas, to the late Jack E. and Nettie Irene (Jones) Copeland. She was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, James Albert Johnson; 3 brothers, William Copeland, Clarence Copeland and Joe Copeland and their wives; 2 sisters, Donnie Lee (Copeland) Wells and Mary D. (Copeland) Pursley and their husbands.
Grace was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmotherand great-great-grandmother. She was a lifetime member of the Deer Park Chapter of Eastern Star #1063, serving as Worthy Matron from 1968-1969. She was a member of the First Baptist Church for 55 years and a Sunday School teacher.
Grace leaves behind to cherish her memory her loving daughter, Mary K. Hollon and her husband, James Hollon, Jr. of Deer Park; one sister, Annie Mae (Copeland) Baine of Huntsivlle; 4 grandchildren, Dale Hollon, James Hollon III, John Hollon and Candy Tamm; 11 great-grandchildren and 6 great-great-grandchildren; a very devoted niece, Frankie Moon and a nephew, Jerry Lee Pursley, both of Deer Park as well as many nieces, nephews, loving family members and friends.
Visitation was held at Grand View Funeral Home in Pasadena and graveside services were held at Center Hill Cemetery in Oakhurst on Oct. 9, 2007.
