George ‘Ricky’ Blanks

George “Ricky” Blanks, 56, a lifetime resident of Point Blank, Texas, passed away, Nov. 19, 2006.  He was born in Livingston, Texas, on Dec. 8, 1949, to George and Lillie Blanks of whom preceded him in death, along with his granddaughter, Alexis Purvis.

Ricky worked for TDCJ at the Ellis Unit in bus repair for 35 years, after serving in the Air Force during the Vietnam era.

He is survived by his wife, Ann Blanks; daughters, Susan Anthony and husband, Sam, of Oakhurst, Texas, Julie Purvis and husband, Ricky of Oakhurst, Texas, Leigh Ann Hollis of Oakhurst, Texas, Kelly Blanks of Point Blank, Texas, Rikki Lynn of Point Blank, Texas; sister, Celia Hogan; grandchildren, Katie Parker, Destiny Richmond, Justin Anthony, Austin Anthony, Makenzie Purvis, Kolton Purvis, and Chasity Newsome and many other loving family members and caring friends.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, Nov. 22, 2006, at 2 p.m. at Paul Horton United Methodist Church, Stephens Creek, Texas. Bro. Tom Owens conducted the service with interment at Mt. Zion Cemetery, Stephens Creek.
