Geraldine ‘Jerry’ Williamson

HUNTSVILLE — Geraldine “Jerry” Williamson went to be with her Lord and Savior on July 22, 2010.  Jerry was born in Keltys on June 2, 1926. She married Wilburn M. “Bill” Williamson on May 26, 1946.

Jerry was a member of the University Heights Baptist Church. She enjoyed her volunteer work with the Huntsville Hospital Auxiliary of which she had been a member since 1995. Jerry was manager of the Huntsville Memorial Hospital gift shop from 1997 to 2001 and from 2006 until 2009.  She was also a member of AARP and for over 12 years planned many, many trips for the local AARP group.  

Jerry was preceded in death by her parents, Beulah and Claude Melton; and her husband, Wilburn M. “Bill” Williamson.  

She is survived by her two daughters, Elizabeth Burns and husband Andy, and Rebecca Rudd and husband Kenneth; grandchildren, Kathryn Rudd, Bill Williamson and Nicholas Rudd and wife Josie; stepgrandchildren, Vendy Rhodes and Kimberly Ellis; and 10 great-grandchildren.

Services will be held Monday July 26, 2010 at 10 a.m. in the Sam Houston Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Reagan Cooksey officiating. Interment will follow at Adickes Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday afternoon from 2-4 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to: The University of Texas  M.D. Anderson Cancer Center – P.O.
