Bessie Ora Hutchins

HUNTSVILLE — Our precious Mother, Grandmother, Great-Grandmother and Great-Great Grandmother Bessie Ora Hutchins joined our heavenly Father on Saturday March 24, 2012 in Huntsville, Texas. She was 99 years old.

Bessie was born to Amanda and Henry Beckworth, Sr. on August  11, 1912 in Lindale, Texas. In 1936 she married her soul-mate R.T. Hutchins.  In 1951 they moved to the Brazosport Area where she was a member of the Order of the Eastern Stars, Clute chapter and also a member of Wesley United Methodist Church.  In 1974, Bessie retired form Brazosport Independent School District Food Services with 22 years of service.  She and R.T. returned to Lindale where they were members of First United Methodist Church.  She was also a lifetime member of the Order of the Eastern Stars, Lindale chapter.   In 2004, Bessie moved to Huntsville, Texas to be closer to her children.

Bessie is preceded in death by her parents Amanda and Henry Beckworth, Sr.; her husband of 58 years, R.T. Hutchins and her brothers and sisters; Jewel Beckworth, Otis Beckworth. Annie Stokes, Linnie Sitton, Willie Beckworth, Leta Mason, Kay Abel, Henry Beckworth, Jr. and Dot Meeks.

She is survived by her children, Julia ( Dean ) Newton, Sue ( Norman ) Wood, and Ronnie ( Sandra ) Hutchins; grandchildren, Terry ( Kathy ) Newton, Colette ( Sam ) Helmintoller, Richard ( Amy ) Wood, Amanda Wood, Chuck ( Debbie ) Hutchins, Wes ( Tisha ) Hutchins and Angela ( Justin ) Martin; great - grandchildren, Josh ( Ariana ) Newton, Ben ( Channah ) Newton, Aerin Newton, Sidney and Madison Helmintoller, Shelby ( Chris ) Hollen, Dakota, Montana, Robert and Brandon Wood. Blake, Breanna, Ashley and Caden Hutchins and Kaele Martin; great-great grandchildren, Aiden Guillen, Kaden Hollen and Aubrey Newton, and adopted family members Shan, Li and Lulu Wang.

Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 28th at Caudle Rutledge Funeral Home Chapel in Lindale, Texas.

Services celebrating Bessie's life will begin at 2:00 p.m. with Reverend Chuck Hutchins officiating. Burial will follow at Lindale City Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Perry Mac Hutchens, Jeff Hutchens, Jon Hutchens, Bob Mason and Henry Mason.

Our special thanks to The Lexington Center staff.
