Henry Archie “Buddy” Currie

HUNTSVILLE — Henry Archie “Buddy” Currie was born on June 5, 1919, to Zach Currie and Mattie Currie (Hillhouse) in San Jacinto County. He passed away on March 15, 2010, in Huntsville at age 90.

Henry was preceded in death by his parents; brothers Ernest Currie, Edgar Currie, Julian Currie, Ted Currie, Holton Currie; and sisters Hester Currie Barnes and Winnie Gannon.

Those left to cherish his memory include his sister, Allie Currie May; niece, Barbara Smith and husband Wayne; nephew, Robert Barnes; nieces, Bobbie Coburn McCann and husband Joe and Mildred Currie Jackson and husband Bo; and numerous other nieces, nephews and other family members.

Henry was an outdoorsman and loved hunting, but the joy of his life was time spent with his loved ones. He will be sorely missed by those that knew him.

Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, March 17, 2010, at Raven Hill Cemetery in Oakhurst, Texas with Rev. Glenn Cooksey officiating. Family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. on Tuesday, March 16, 2010, at Full Gospel Church in Oakhurst.
