James Alexander Shook Jr.

HUNTSVILLE — Alex was born in Conroe on June 7, 1984, and went to be with the Lord March 6, 2010.

Alex graduated from Huntsville High School in 2002. He served in the United States Army for three years as an Unit Supply Specialist and did a tour of duty in Afghanistan and was awarded the Army Commendation Medal, Army Achievement Award, National Defense Service Medal, Afghanistan Campaign Medal, Global War On Terrorism Service Medal, Humanitarian Service Medal and Army Service Ribbon. He was proud to be a United States soldier and serve his country.

Alex is preceded in death by his father, James Alexander Shook Sr., and his brother Michael W. Shook. He is survived by Mom and Dad, Jeff and Sherry Vienneau; his sister, Melissa Shook; brother, Jeffrey Vienneau; nephew, Matthew Shook; and many other loving relatives and friends.

His faith in God will let him rest in peace now after suffering with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, March 11, 2010, at Sam Houston Memorial Funeral Home in Huntsville, with Pastor John Gaston officiating. Interment will be at 2:30 p.m. on Thursday, March 11, 2010, at Houston National Cemetery. Family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, March 10, 2010, at Sam Houston Memorial Funeral Home in Huntsville.
