Bennie Gean ‘Curtis’ Thomas

HUNTSVILLE — Mr. Bennie Gean "Curtis" Thomas, 74, of Huntsville passed away March 4, 2010, in Harris County. He was born May 2, 1935, in Madison County.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 13, 2010, at noon at Unity of Faith Missionary Baptist Church. Pastor Obie Rolling Jr. will preside. Burial will follow in the Martha Chapel Cemetery.

Allen Thomas, Robert Crawford, Nelson Johnson,John York, Ray Smith, Charlie Brown, Robert Butcher and Andre Givens will serve as pallbearers.

Mr. Thomas was member of Bethel A.M.E. Church. He was a truck driver for Transit Mix, retiring after 32 years.

A United States Army veteran, he is survived by his wife of 32 years, Lula M. Thomas of Huntsville; one son, Gary O'Bryant and wife Ashia, all of Huntsville; one daughter, Pam Merchant of Lufkin; one brother, Willie E. Thomas of Dodge; six grandchildren, which include three who were very dear, Jeffrey O'Bryant, Gary O'Bryant Jr . and  Amaya O'Bryant, all of Huntsville; three nephews, Ronnie, Allen and Rodney Thomas; one niece, Yolanda Thomas; very special friends, Charlie Brown, Robert Crawford, Oscar and Pearline Brown; and a host of other relatives and friends.
