The final roster of the Huntsville Hoopsters, the team of local community members that will take on the World Famous Harlem Ambassadors at 7 p.m. today in the Huntsville High School gymnasium, is now set.
The team includes Patrick Antwe, Walter Bennett, Megan Buro, Wacey Buro, Kirby Cason, Michael Hennerich, Matt Chastine, Brandon Reese, Dave Smith, John Yarabeck and several of SHSU Alpha Tau Omega’s finest basketball players.
The team is being sponsored by several local individuals and groups, including U.S. Rep. Kevin Brady, First National Bank of Huntsville, Huntsville ISD, McKenzie’s Bar-B-Que, New York Joe’s, Patrick and Bobbe Nolan, Physical Therapy Associates, The Riverside Chamber of Commerce, Texas Best Concrete, the Texas Department of Criminal Justice, Wharton Insurance Network, Stuart and Beth Williamson, Reliable Auto Parts and The Lexington.
The two teams will face off today for a charity game benefitting the United Way of Walker County.
The game will be preceded by a Charity Tailgate Party inside Huntsville High School at 6 p.m. Local charities will be on hand to give information on their efforts in the community.
Tickets for the game are $5 general admission and $15 for floor seats.
