HUNTSVILLE — Over 60 area youngsters participated in this year’s Camp Invention, a science enrichment program for students going into the first through sixth grades. It is the fifth year for SHSU to host the camp, taught by certified teachers and directed by Houston ISD teacher and local resident Mary Gedelian. Other modules of Camp Invention include Power’d, Global Games and SMArt: Science, Math & Art. Above, teacher Ruby Osborne, left, works with a camper on his robot invention during the “I Can Invent III” module. “I Can Invent” is a popular portion of the week-long camp, allowing students to disassemble household appliances and come up with new inventions.
