HUNTSVILLE — A Huntsville man was arrested on multiple drug charges Tuesday evening after an arrest warrant was served against him for delivery of a controlled substance.

Jason Leon Tyson, 26, was arrested just before 5:30 p.m. Tuesday at a residence in the 1400 block of SH 30 by Huntsville Police Department detectives with assistance from the HPD SWAT Team.

According to Lt. Jim Barnes of the HPD, Tyson’s arrest was the result of an ongoing investigation into narcotics activity in Huntsville that has been conducting over the past several months.

“We’ve had an ongoing investigation involving Jason Leon Tyson, and we had a warrant on him for delivery of a controlled substance,” Barnes said.

Barnes said Tyson cooperated fully with police at the time of his arrest. Evidence recovered at the scene also resulted in two additional charges of possession of a controlled substance and possession of marijuana.

Detectives also seized two vehicles from the residence and an undisclosed amount of cash. Barnes said the seizures were due to warrants obtained during the investigation connecting to the delivery of a controlled substance charges.

“Any arrest on drug dealers is a good arrest,” Barnes said. “We’re going to continue to target these individuals that are dealing in illegal narcotics.”
