Warm Spirit spa products find a home with local woman
Renee Williams had no idea a trip to Dallas in October would lead to her owning her own small business.
Just shy of four months later, Williams said she may have found her calling.
“I had no idea what Warm Spirit was and I attended a meeting about the company. I learned Warm Spirit is a self-care and wellness company that sells all-natural bath and body products and also homeopathic remedy products,” she said. “It’s the best thing out there.”
The company began about six years ago as a product for women of color, but co-founder Nadine Thompson said on the Warm Spirit Web site the company grew from that beginning.
“In formulating high quality, healing and pampering products for women of color we realized we’d created products that every woman and her family needed and wanted,” Thompson writes. “Our focus has now expanded to include all women and their loved ones. By addressing the needs of one special and often disregarded group, it turned out that we have created as well a tremendous company with excellent products for everyone regardless of race and an empowering sales and marketing plan.”
Williams said the quality of the products is what drew her to become a consultant.
“There are no perfumes, no dyes, all the scents come from fruit extracts,” she said. “With Warm Spirit, you’re getting quality products. Everything that you put on your skin is absorbed into your bloodstream, so when you use Warm Spirit, you’re putting all good stuff in your body.
“There are three grades of products: commercial, which is the stuff you buy at Wal-Mart, perfume and then therapeutic. Therapeutic is the highest grade you can get and only one percent of companies in the world sell therapeutic products and Warm Spirit is part of that one percent.”
Of all the various scents the Warm Spirit company sells, Williams said mango is her favorite.
“It comes in shower gel, body lotion and body butter, which is made out of shea butter and cocoa butter, which is pretty much all the rage right now,” she said. “We also carry body polishes that are skin exfoliators — once you’re in the shower, put it on and it washes away dead skin. We also have body scrubs and we have all different scents; mango, pear, melon, lavender — you name it, they’ve got it.”
Williams divides time between her Warm Spirit business with three — yes, three — other jobs.
“I am employed full-time as an administrative assistant to Oscar Gutierrez, owner and president of Commercial Benefit Services, Inc., an independent insurance agency,” she said. “I am a crew leader in the Huntsville Item mailroom.
“I am also the CEO of my own business, Stuff Happens! Event Planning, and recently launched a gift basket division of Stuff Happens! Event Planning that is called The Stuff’s Inside All Occasion Gift Baskets,” she added. “I’m trying to make my mark on the world.”
Williams and her husband, Damon, have five children and two grandchildren between them.
For those wanting to know more about Warm Spirit, Williams is hosting a business launch party on March 11 from 12 to 2 p.m. at the Tanglewood Mobile Home Community Center.
“All are invited and can RSVP to (936) 650-3952 or by e-mail at reneew@warmspirit.org,” she said. “Attendees will learn more about Warm Spirit, how I got involved with the company, and get a chance to sample some of the products and enjoy a mini-pampering session.”
Williams is currently the only Warm Spirit consultant in Huntsville, and said she hopes to introduce more people to the product and bring other consultants on board.
