HUNTSVILLE — Registration is under for the seventh annual Shot in the Dark Golf Tournament and Helicopter Golf Ball Drop set for April 24 at Raven Nest Golf Couse.
The Huntsville-Walker County Chamber of Commerce is hosting the event, featuring nine holes of golf during the day and nine holes after dark.
Registration is $380 per team and includes green fees, golf cart,
glow-in-the-dark accessories, dinner and refreshments.
Check in is at 3 p.m., tee off at 4 and dinner between the two rounds.
Laura Green, events and communications manager for the Chamber, said a limited number of teams can be sold.
A portion of the proceeds benefit the Huntsville Leadership Institute.
Green said golfers and non-golfers can purchase golf balls and win the first place prize — a 52-inch LCD Sanyo TV and $500 gift card from Able Amo & Brookshire Bros.; or second place — a $500 gift card from Sears of Huntsville.
Golf balls are being sold at one for $10, six for $50 and 13 for $100.
The balls will be dropped from a helicopter on the driving range during the tournament and the first in the hole or closest will win.
Green said 600 golf balls will be sold.
