HUNTSVILLE — The Huntsville City Council meets at 6 p.m. today at City Hall to tackle a light agenda, but is scheduled to discuss three items in executive session.
The three items include personnel matters regarding the evaluation of City Secretary Lee Woodward; consultation with retained counsel, Provost, Umphrey law firm, on legal matters, on legal efforts to recover overcharges by Entergy on electric bill, street lights; and consultation with city attorney to receive legal advice only on TABC permitting process and status update on Shenanigan’s and Sam’s Fast Food Stop Mart.
The council is also scheduled to discuss and take possible action on Walker County Fair & Rodeo Association request for Hotel Occupancy Funds for the upcoming Fair and pro rodeo.
Items on today’s agenda include:
• Consent agenda — Approval of Consent Agenda authorizes the City Manager to implement each item in accordance with staff recommendations. An item may be removed from the Consent Agenda and added to the Statutory Agenda for full discussion by request of a member of Council.
• Approve the minutes of the City Council meeting held Feb. 16.
• Approve Ordinance 2010-23 to make required modifications to the existing Industrial Wastewater Ordinance, Section 46 of Huntsville Code of Ordinances, 2nd reading.
• Approve Ordinance 2010-26 amending the budget for FY08-09.
• Approve and award the FM 247 Sewer Project #06-11-12 construction contract to Doughtie Construction in the amount of $28,793.75.

• Discussion and possible action to approve Ordinance 2010-25 to approve stop signs on Gainous Street, 1st reading.

a. Council report on environmental initiatives by Billie Smith, Procurement Manager.
b. Discussion of manganese levels in water.
c. Annual update from Personnel Committee.
d. Presentation, discussion and possible action on Walker County Fair & Rodeo Association request for Hotel Occupancy Funds for the upcoming Fair and Pro Rodeo.
• City Manager Report — Receipt of $15,000 from SHSU; sidewalk projects reports; completion of storage facility at Service Center.
• Executive session
• City Council will convene in closed session as authorized by Texas Government Code, Chapter 551, Section 551.074 - personnel matters regarding the evaluation of City Secretary Lee Woodward.
