The Bearkats posts knew they would have a challenge on their hands going up against the big men of the Islanders. So far, Texas A&M-Corpus; Christi is winning the battle.
While the Islanders have a slight edge in the rebound department (15-11), they are killing the Kats with points in the paint. The Islanders have a 14-2 advantage there.
But Sam Houston State has been able to counter that with its shooting from the field.
The Kats have hit only 33 percent of its shots with 6-of-18 shooting, but five of those have been from long range.
With 7:49 to play in the first half, the Islanders lead SHSU 21-19.
