Church Groundbreaking


Members of St. Paul United Methodist Church break ground Sunday afternoon for their new church, which will be constructed to the right of the existing facility on Horace Smith Road off Moffett Springs Road. Construction on the 6,908 square-foot church and fellowship hall is scheduled to start today and completed in seven months. The new facility, which will tie in with the existing structure, will be the fourth built at the current location. The current building will renovated, adding classrooms, offices and a study hall. Participating in he groundbreaking are, from left, Wilborn Cox, the oldest member of the 127-year-old church; St. Paul pastor the Rev. Rick C. Nance Sr.; Mattie Walker, associate minister Carl Sanders, James Jenkins and Margie Andrews.
