Last Saturday’s series-ending win over Shelbyville took teamwork and determination. The Bulldogs were up to the task, downing the Dragons 6-4 and sweeping the Region III quarterfinal series two games to none. Tonight at 7, New Waverly opens a best-of-three series with seventh-ranked White Oak at Morris Frank Park in Lufkin. Even though they may be in what shortstop Rhett Bohannon described as “uncharted territory,” the Bulldogs say they are ready for the Roughnecks.
