Fourth-grader Alexis Cardona reads an original story to her mother, Kara Cardona, during Young Writers Day at Scott Johnson Elementary School Thursday afternoon. The day-long event featured Scott Johnson students reading original stories to family members, teachers and each other in order to promote reading and writing.
