Sam Houston State pitcher Brandi Crnkovic, left, and catcher Casie Everitt have been a big part of the Bearkat softball team’s success the past three seasons. As sophomores in 2007, the seniors helped guide the Bearkats to the Southland Conference tournament championship and the school’s first-ever appearance in the NCAA regionals. Sam Houston State will try to lock down its third straight trip to the SLC tournament when the Bearkats host Texas State in the final regular-season series beginning with a doubleheader today at 2 p.m.
