Miss Amy Leigh Karr and Mr. James Matthew Ritter were united in marriage on Saturday, October 11, 2008 at 6pm at First United Methodist Church in Huntsville, Texas. The ceremony was officiated by Reverend Ellen Willett.
The bride is the daughter of Spencer and Anne Karr of Dodge, Texas. She is the granddaughter of Verna Lee Karr of Kerrville, Texas and Josephine Karr of Huntsville, Texas and the late Mr. and Mrs. Charles Weldon Fisher of Bryan, Texas.
The groom is the son of Mr. Ed Ritter of Knoxville, Tennessee and the late Mrs. Lois Ritter. He is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Aurthur Ritter and the late Mr. and Mrs. Harry O'Connell.
Given in marriage by her parents and escorted by her father, the bride wore a beaded, ivory Madeline Gardner gown along with a tiara and fingertip veil. She carried a bouquet of crimson red roses tied with white satin.
Kimberly Anne Morgan, sister of the bride, of Spring, Texas, served as the matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Linda Hale, sister of the groom, of Knoxville, Tennessee, Amy VanWyk, of Austin, Texas, Lindsay Wilgers of Houston, Texas, Beth Stotts, of Pearland, Texas, Kim Miller, of Cypress, Texas, Brandi Loper, of Houston, Texas and Sarah Hardin, of Houston, Texas. The bridal attendants wore floor length black halter gowns by Alex Evenings.
Mike Smith, friend of the groom, of Katy, Texas, served as the best man. Groomsmen were Douglas Karr, brother of the bride of Dallas, Texas, Todd Morgan, brother-in-law of the bride, of Spring, Texas, Eric Wasson of Houston, Texas, Wayne Frailey of Magolia, Texas, Steve Wren of the Woodlands, Texas, Jonathan Burch of Houston, Texas, and Brandon Starring of Houston, Texas.
A reception and dance followed the ceremony at Magnolia Lake with music by the Danatones. On the eve of the wedding the groom's family hosted a rehearsal dinner at The Junction in Huntsville, Texas.
The bride is a 1996 graduate of Huntsville High School and a 2000 graduate of Southwest Texas State University in San Marcos, Texas, where she earned her degree in Business Administration. She is employed at Comsys in Houston, Texas.
The groom is a 1992 graduate of Klein Oak High School in Spring, Texas, and a 1996 graduate of Sam Houston State University in Huntsville, Texas, where he earned his degree in Business Administration with a minor in Criminal Justice. He is employed at Comsys in Houston, Texas.
The couple honeymooned in Capri, Italy, and is residing in Houston, Texas.
