Mcelvaney-Mckee Wedding

Stacy Lee McElvaney and Daniel Phillip McKee were united in marriage on May 30 at 6 p.m. at University Heights Baptist Church in Huntsville. The double-ring ceremony was officiated by pastor Tim Ramsey. Music for the ceremony was provided by a string trio.

The bride is the daughter of Galen and Cindy McElvaney of Huntsville. She is the granddaughter of Jack and Betty Jo Pursley of Huntsville and Hazel Godley of San Marcos. The groom is the son of Deborah McKee of Huntsville and Kenneth McKee of Montgomery. He is the grandson of Ruth McKee of Huntsville and Bobbi Perron of Waller.

The bride was given in marriage by her parents and escorted by her father. The bride chose a gown by designer Audrey Hart. The gown of ivory stain featured a delicately scalloped neckline and fitted bodice of an alencon lace overlay. The bodice was accentuated by a narrow satin band and designed with an asymmetrically placed beaded bow and delicate covered buttons at the closure. The hemline was accentuated by the same alencon lace that bordered the skirt and chapel length train. Stacy also chose a fingertip veil from designer Bel-Aire. The veil of soft silk illusion accented her gown by use of an intricate lace trim with small pearls delicately placed throughout the lace trim. To complete her outfit, the bride wore pearl earrings, a gift from the groom, and a pearl necklace belonging to her maternal grandmother, Betty Jo Pursley. Her bouquet was a mixture of pale pink gerbera daisies, pale pink roses and ivory hydrangeas.

Longtime friend from New Waverly, Nakona Vick, served as maid of honor, while Aimee McFarlane of Huntsville served as matron of honor. Emaley Oxley, cousin of the groom, from Spring, served as bridesmaid. They wore strapless tea-length dresses in celadon that were fitted to the waist and were accented by a silk ribbon that elegantly tied the back. Their bouquets were a smaller version of the bride’s bouquet. Teela Polk of Powell served as the flower girl. She wore an ivory floor length gown with a celadon silk ribbon at the waist that tied in the back.

Kyle Ballard of Natchitoches, La., served as the best man. Groomsmen included Kris Lyle of Stafford and Justin McElvaney, brother of the bride, who is currently stationed in Destin, Fla. Serving as ushers were Stephen Davis, Casey Ellis, Josh Johns and Brandon Willin.

Immediately following the ceremony, a dinner and dance reception was held at Magnolia Lake in Huntsville. DInner was catered by The Farmhouse Cafe. The bride’s four-tiered cake was iced in white with edible pearls delicately placed around the cake. At the bottom of each layer, a celadon ribbon was accompanied by pale pink gerbera daisies, pink roses and ivory hydrangeas that adorned the cake. The top layer was decorated with a classic letter “M” to represent their last name. The groom’s chocolate cake was made to look like a baseball glove with a ball in the middle. It was accented with strawberries decorated as tuxedos.

On the eve of the wedding, the groom’s parents hosted the rehearsal dinner at the Magnolia Lake guesthouse. An enchilada dinner catered by El Chico was served. Following a week long honeymoon in Costa Rica, the couple now resides in Huntsville. Daniel will be teaching at Alpha Omega Academy and Stacy will continue her final year at SHSU before graduating in May 2010. Stacy works part-time at Huntsville Pet Clinic.
