On July 6, 1957, Eugene and Ruby Jean Smith were married in Silsbee, Texas. In honor of their 50th Wedding Anniversary, they celebrated with family and friends on Saturday, July 7, 2007, at the home of their son and daughter-in-law in La Porte, Texas. The Smiths moved from Pasadena, Texas to Elkins Lake after their retirement and are members of University Heights Baptist Church.
